Deep dish buffalo chicken pizza is a spicy, cheesy, delicious combination. Make your pizza half cheese for the kids!
We have a chain restaurant around here called BJ’s Brewhouse. They have several unique deep dish pizza options but my favorite is the buffalo chicken.
Their pizzas are a little pricey so I wanted to try to recreate the pizza at home.
It turned out really good and we’ve already made it a second time because we loved it so much.
The dough I used for the pizza can be found here. It is easy to make and doesn’t take a lot of time.
I only do buffalo chicken on half of our family’s pizza. The other half I usually make cheese for the kids. Just cut this recipe in half to do a half and half pizza.
On the restaurant’s pizza, they also add celery and red onions. You could also skip the ranch and crumble blue cheese over the top. We like to keep it basic but you can’t go wrong with anything you decide to add.
Deep Dish Buffalo Chicken Pizza
Deep dish buffalo chicken pizza is a delicious combination of spicy and cheesy. Combine two favorites of hot wings and pizza into one.
- 1 deep dish pizza dough recipe below
- 1 lb chicken breast
- 1/4 cup Frank's hot sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- Ranch to drizzle over top
Prepare the deep dish pizza dough.
Cook chicken breast until cooked through. About 5-6 minutes per side.
Chop the chicken into small pieces. You could shred the chicken if you prefer. Toss in half of the hot sauce and stir to make sure all of the chicken is coated.
Cook the pizza dough for 10 minutes. Take out of oven and brush the bottom with the remaining hot sauce.
Add the chicken to the pizza.
Top the pizza with the mozzarella cheese. Feel free to add more if you like the pizza extra cheesy.
Bake for 15 minutes or until crust edges start browning and the cheese is melted.
Drizzle with ranch or crumble blue cheese over the top. Serve immediately for super melty cheese or rest for a few minutes before serving if you don't like the cheese to run.
