How can you beat a hotel that has the beach on one side and a theme park on the other?

Hotel Breakers is 669 room hotel located in Sandusky, Ohio. There is fun for everyone on and off this property. Outdoor pools, outdoor water playground, indoor pool, arcade, fire pits, restaurants, theme park, water park, waand much more.

What could be better? On the back side of the hotel, you walk out right onto the beach of Lake Erie. Lounge chairs, volleyball nets, and other activities line the beach.

Walk out the front and you are in the theme park, Cedar Point, in less than 5 minutes. It’s just a short walk around the park lot. Also within walking distance is Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. Guests of Hotel Breakers get one hour of exclusive early entry into Cedar Point. Get on those big rides before the crowds get there and save hours of waiting in line!

I’ve stayed at Hotel Breakers two years in a row and the service and rooms have always been great.

One of my biggest tips: pack some meals to bring with you or be prepared to spend quite a bit on food. The hotel and park food can be pricey. The good thing is, each room is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave.

There is no coffee pot in the room but a Starbucks is located on the first floor.

Hotel Breakers has a Japanese steakhouse called Tomo, a T.G.I. Friday’s, and a Perkins. If you get park tickets, Cedar Point offers a wide variety of different places to eat. There’s Italian, bbq, diners, and quick eats.

The T.G.I. Friday’s is about $8 more per meal than my local one back home. Most, if not all, dinner items were $15-$25. A lot of families bring sandwiches, snacks, pastries, etc to eat in the room.

The gift shop has a lot of nice shirts, sweatshirts, stuffed Snoopy dogs, and other various clothing items. They also have snacks, drinks, and essentials you may have left at home.

During Halloweekends, September and October, they really go all out decorating for the season. Cedar Point also has a ton of events happening for Halloween, including zombies walking around the park scaring people. This happens in designated areas so if you aren’t into scary stuff, you can still enjoy the park.

Hotel Breakers also has several areas for large groups to meet. They have an outdoor pavilion, indoor meeting spaces, and a separate building to hold events. Their catering is excellent, especially breakfast.

Check the hotel or theme park’s website to see dates available. Both are closed during the week beginning right before fall.

Have you been to Hotel Breakers or Cedar Point? What were your favorite parts of the trip?
