Halloween mummy dog plated with mac and cheese

Mummy Dogs

Mummy dogs are a fun Halloween dinner.  They are easy to make and taste just like pigs in a blanket.

Ingredients

  • 1 tube crescent rolls
  • 1 pkg hot dogs

Instructions

  1. Lay the crescent rolls out on a flat surface. The main perforated seam that breaks the sheet of rolls into two pieces can be separated. Press the perforated seams together of the 4 individual rolls so you end up with two big sheets of the crescent rolls.
  2. Take a pizza cutter and cut long strips down both sheets of the rolls. I like to cut them around a 1/4" to 1/2" thick.
  3. Take a hot dog and wrap the strips of crescent rolls around it. I use around 3 strips per hot dog but you can use as many as you want. I always have leftovers.
  4. You can also add cheese before wrapping the hot dogs. I would advise using more strips of the crescent rolls to cover it or you'll have a cheesy mess.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 13-15 minutes.

Recipe Notes

  • Once they are cooked, I like to add mustard eyes but you can decorate any way you want.
  • Some fun ideas: add jalapenos and cheddar cheese before wrapping, use brats instead of hot dogs, serve with a side of chili to dip the mummies in.
