I am not a big fan of tea but my husband and mom are.  They love the flavored sweet tea’s, especially peach.  I have experimented with this recipe and got their approval on it.

Sweet Tea with peach syrup

My mom even bought a maker like mine so she can make this more often.  I love this item because it literally makes a pitcher within minutes.  Just fill up water to the line and pour in the machine, fill ice to the line, put the first top piece in, add 5 family size tea bags, put the top lid on, and push the button to start the brewing.  The price is great, too.

I have used fresh peaches for this, too.  Unfortunately, around here, good peaches are hard to come by so this canned peaches recipe is great.  If you do use fresh peaches, I would use around 6 peaches cut into slices.  The rest of the recipe should be the same.  Feel free to add more sugar if it’s not sweet enough.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans peaches, drained (15 oz)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 16 cups tea

Instructions

  1. Drain the extra liquid off two cans of peaches.  Place peaches in a large pot with the sugar and water.  Stir to combine.

  2. Cook over low-medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Take a potato masher or fork and mash the peaches down to really bring out the flavor.  Cook another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Put a metal strainer over a large bowl and strain the liquid.  Place in a container and refrigerate until ready to use.

  5. Make approximately 16 cups of sweetened or unsweetened tea.  Refrigerate until ready to use.

  6. Pour tea in a glass and add around 1/2 to 1 Tbsp. of the peach syrup.  Feel free to use more or less as desired.  Stir to combine and enjoy!
