It’s my birthday month wishlist!!!
I can’t believe it’s August already… and my birthday month!! This summer is flying by.
August is a crazy month for birthdays so I thought I’d share what’s on my wishlist this year. Maybe this will help you buy for a fellow August birthday friend or maybe just purchase for yourself 🙂

My knives are getting old and dull so my top pick is this J.A. Henckels 8″ Chef’s Knife. It is said to be a powerhouse, not only sharp but also durable. It’s got great reviews and is affordable. Yes, i’m that old to where my #1 gift is a chef’s knife lol

I’m in the kitchen A LOT and I hate when cookbooks won’t stay open as you are trying to make a recipe. I also don’t like getting food on my cookbook, phone, or tablet. You’d think I would’ve had a holder by now but nope! So it made my list. I like this one, Rosanna Pansino Wood Tablet and Cookbook Stand, because it goes with my farmhouse type theme.

I’ve been looking for some ceramic cookware since it is supposed to be better for you while cooking. The non-stick surfaces and other materials that go into making pots and pans can get in your food and be toxic. I found this Vremi 8 Piece Ceramic Cookware set and I love the color and style of it. They have a retro feel.

Matty Matheson is my husband and I’s favorite chef to watch. He has a show on Viceland called “It’s Suppertime”. He’s got tattoos, he yells, he cusses, and he’s also worn bondage to make donuts but if you’re ok with that, you’ll love the show. I’ve made a few of his recipes and they were really good so I can’t wait for his first cookbook to come out.

Mixing bowls just get kind of messed up over time. Plus, for me blogging, it doesn’t look too pretty with my clear plastic bowls with red lids. So, I found these Nordic Ware Covered Bowls (8 pc set) that would be perfect. They’re colorful, come in 4 different sizes, and include lids in case something needs covered.

This KitchenAid 5 Qt. Tilt Head Glass Mixing Bowl is another item that just works great since I do a lot of food photography. It’s hard to get good pictures inside the stainless steel bowl. It’s also great to have a backup bowl if you want to make two different things at once. The glass bowl has measurements on the side so you can literally measure your ingredients right in the bowl.

If you read my post about the Queso I made from the Pioneer Woman: Come and Get it! cookbook you know how much I loved it. The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime! cookbook looks like it would be just as good or even better. It includes comfort classics, freezer food, 16-minute meals, and more. Recipes like chicken taco salad, oven barbecue chicken, veggie chili, and Mexican tortilla casserole all sound like perfect family meals that can be made quickly.

And lastly, I need a mandoline slicer in my life. You know my obsession with fries and this baby will cut my fries for me. It will also slice onions (another one of my favorites that I cut uneven and why I need a better knife), potatoes or other veggies for chips, cheese, fruit, etc. There’s also a grater and shredder. I chose this Mueller Austria V-Pro Mandoline Slicer because of the great reviews.
So, I know that’s all cooking stuff on my wishlist, but since I love spending time in the kitchen cooking, then all of these items will make me a very happy woman.
Take note hubby!! You enjoy my delicious cooking so help a girl out and get me these necessities 🙂
Any of your friends or family members that love to cook would love these items.
A couple more non-cooking things!
Electronics
The only thing on my wishlist that isn’t cooking related is an Apple Watch. I fought against getting one of these and went with the Fitbit instead. I basically like keeping track of my steps and the other health trackers the Fitbit offered.
But… my Fitbit has bit the dust. It won’t stay charged as long anymore. In all fairness, it is a few years old.
Shoes
Oh and i’ll always take a pair of Tieks!! Those are always a given on my wishlists.
I wear their shoes almost every day in the fall, winter, and spring. They are amazing flats that are super comfortable, your feet don’t sweat like in some other flats, and I’ve had mine for almost 4 years and they are still in great shape.
They are a little pricey, but for as much wear as I’ve gotten out of them, they are worth it. I have the basic black but I’d love the Vegan dark or light grey ones.
I’ll do a follow-up post later in the month to show you if I got anything from this list. August is always a busy month for us because there are several family members and friends that have birthdays this month. Lots of parties/celebrations to attend.
How about you? Do you have a lot of birthday’s to celebrate this month?
**Update: I ended up receiving 1,3, and 7!!!
1.This chef’s knife is so much better than the old knives I was using. It’s sharp and durable just like all of the reviews said. I highly recommend.
3.These pots and pans have such a cool look to them. They have been great to cook in. I love the green color, too.
7.This cookbook does not disappoint. All of the recipes are for dinnertime but includes breakfast for dinner, salads for dinner, etc. I can’t wait to start making things in it. I’m most excited about some of the freezer meals she has. Those will be great for last minute meals or if i’m not home one night.
